Welcome to Thaa Atoll School
Thaa Atoll School is a government school serving students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. We follow the National Curriculum of the Maldives and prepare students for the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level examinations.
With close to 900 students and 80 staff, we are a close-knit community where every child is known, encouraged and supported to reach their potential — in the classroom, on the sports field and in service to their island.
01
Our history
The school began as a small island maktab teaching Quran, Dhivehi and arithmetic. It became an atoll education centre in the 1980s, adding lower-secondary classes, and was upgraded to a full secondary school offering O Level and later A Level programmes.
Today our graduates serve across the Maldives as teachers, nurses, engineers, fishermen, entrepreneurs and public servants — and many return to give back to the atoll.
